Fort Valley Municipal Court COVID-19 Response Plan

Beginning July 14, 2020, the court will resume conducting virtual hearings.  Pursuant to the orders of the Supreme Court of Georgia and recommendations of Governor Brian Kemp and the Centers for Disease Control, certain safety measures will be put in place to protect the health and safety of the defendants, court personnel, and the public.  The following precautions will be strictly followed as an order of the court.

Individuals are required to wear masks upon entry into City Hall lobby.  Hand sanitizer will be available throughout City Hall.  Please maintain 6 ft. social distance.

Prior to Court Date

Individuals are asked to view the video explaining the different type of pleas prior to their scheduled court date.   The video can be viewed on the City of Fort Valley’s Facebook page and website fortvalleyga.org.

Citation payments can be made in person at City Hall in the form of cash or money order and online at fortvalleytix.com.  Contact the clerk’s office at 478-825-8261 for your citation number and any other questions or concerns.

Day of Court
Defendants are asked to arrive at City Hall at the following times based on last names:

A-F         10:30am

G-L         11:00am

M-R       11:30am

S-Z          12:00noon

Enter the Fire Station Bay to sign-in, provide phone number to be contacted and receive your entry packet which will contain plea sheet, pen, and mask.  Individuals will then be asked to wait in your vehicles or outside until you are notified of your time to enter City Hall to see the Judge.  Individuals are permitted to use their own pen and supplies.

Once you receive your phone call, enter City Hall front lobby and go through security and temperature checks.  Proceed to courtroom and stand behind podium and case proceedings will begin shortly thereafter.
