City Clerk's Bio 

Scakajawea Wright was born February 6, 1986. She is native of Fort Valley, attended Peach County High School, graduated Middle Georgia Technical College Adult Literacy Program in 2008, and earned a degree in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Forensic Psychology in December 2015 from Fort Valley State University. Ms. Wright is currently pursuing a degree in Mental Health Counseling with a focus in Christian Counseling with Grand Canyon University.

Ms. Wright became employed with the City of Fort Valley February 2016. She brought with her five years of experience as a work-study student from Fort Valley State University Human Resource Office and many years of customer service experience. 

During her time as an employee, Scakajawea has advanced from Administrative Assistant to City Clerk. Ms. Wright has worked to ensure her orderly operations as the Administration Assistant and strives to maintain high standards of integrity and transparency within the organization. 

Ms. Wright is currently pursuing her certification to become a Certified Municipal Clerk with the Carl Vinson Institute at the University of Georgia and is currently pursuing her certification to become a Qualifying/Filing Officer for Elections. She is a member of the Georgia Municipal Clerks/Finance Officers Association. 

Ms. Wright looks forward to continuing to help, love, grow, impact and create an environment that proves Fort Valley is “Where Caring is a Way of Life”.
